Li’Ani Miller ~ Videographer

“I believe film is a window into our imagination.”

I’m Li’Ani! I’m the one behind the camera and the mind behind the visions that you see come to life through FoviMedia. More than anything, I highly value authenticity. I live for the candid moments of laughter, joy and love. I live to capture the emotions and aspects of life that makes it beautiful and raw.

The inspiration behind the “Mount Everest” video shoot was simply hearing the song. The wheels started to turn as I visualized the whole thing: the model, the setting and that one simple chair prop. Music is a huge inspiration for me, it’s fuel for my imagination. I have a very simple minimalistic approach to how I film. I think it makes everything more authentic, to catch everything in its rawest form and I think it puts the people who are in front of the camera more at ease. There’s just so much beauty and elegance to simplicity.

I’m very creative and passionate about what I do. I’ve always enjoyed filming and editing since I was just a kid walking around with a camcorder. Around high school, my love for it revived when we had a couple of school projects that involved film. Prior to that, I thought I would become a writer, but when I saw how interconnected storytelling and film was, I knew that this was what I wanted to do with my life. I knew it was something I enjoyed and something I can utilize my strengths in. I could 100% be who I am with only my imagination as my limit.

Alan Watts once said, “Better to life a short life filled of what you like doing than a long life lived in a miserable way.” Whether you agree or not with that idealistic approach to life, I think we can all agree we have the desire to enjoy life and do what we love. I want my work reflect that – the joy I have in what I do.
